London: Order of the Trustees, 1912. 1st Edition . Very scarce complete five-volume set, published in 1901, 1902, 1903, 1905 and 1912, respectively. Very good plus in original light brown cloth with slight shelf wear and a touch of soiling. "Presented by the Trustees of The British Museum" label affixed to front pastedown or flyleaf of each volume. Bindings firm, with gilt titles on spines bright and clean. Cataloguing 3,890 bird species represented by nearly 70,000 types of eggs; included are 79 full-page color plates. A beautiful set.
