The fourth in a series of volumes which catalogue the extensive holdings of incunabula in the varions libraries affiliated with Harvard University, representing one of the largest collections of incunabula in the western hemisphere. Entries include 274 items from France, 83 from the Netherlands, 38 from Spain, 2 from Portugal, and 32 from England. From the publisher's description: "The descriptions provide information about format, size, binding, illuminations, marginalia, book-plates and labels, and imperfections, as well as contents, names of editors and translators, and variants, together with cross-references to other standard catalogues. Like its predecessors, this volume includes representative plates and indices to authors and anonymous titles, editors and translators, printers and places, provenances, concordances, and identifiable bindings. As new.
