About This Item

New York: Carroll & Graf Publishers. Very Good+ in Near Fine dj. 2002. 2nd printing. Hardcover. [remainder stripe on top edge, otherwise just minimally worn, with slight bumping to lower corners; jacket shows a bit of surface rubbing, but no tears or chips]. Yet another of the prolific Kaminsky's series of Hollywood-history-themed screwball-mystery novels, in which detective Toby Peters is hired (yet again) by some iconic Tinseltown figure -- in this instance, Cary Grant, who in real life (according to an Author's Note) "had been working as a special agent for the British Intelligence Services" since the late 1930s -- a fact (or factoid) from which the author spins a tale, set in 1944, in which Peters and Grant team up in pursuit of a murderer, which leads them to (among other things) "a nest of Nazi sympathizers." .
