London: Cassell and Company, 1893. First edition. Hardcover. g- to g. Octavo. (ix) (1) 371pp. + 16 pages of publisher's ads at the back. Dark blue cloth boards with gilt lettering on the spine. Decorative floral endpapers. Some pages of the publisher's advertisements are unopened. This is a first edition of Stevenson's adventure novel which serves as a sequel to "Kidnapped". The book is also known as "David Balfour". Binding with some some light bumping and rubbing to extremities. Spine slightly cocked. Interior with some light sporadic foxing throughout. Starting at the front free endpapers, pages 128 and 144. Binding in good-, interior in good condition overall. Binding protected by modern mylar.
