An uber-important set, complete in eight volumes including an Index, of the justly infamous sale across several years (1966-1970) at the Parke-Bernet Galleries in New York, of the massive collection of U.S. History and Americana of the noted collector Thomas Winthrop Streeter. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound hardcovers, bound in blue cloth over boards, gilt lettering to spines, glassine wraps removed recently, clean, if lightly toned interiors, minimal rubbing to extremities but with short splits to two spine heads, one being glue-repaired. The eight volumes including the Index span over 3,330 pages, and feature numerous fine plates, frontispieces, and many score reproductions of maps, vignettes at title pages, vignettes of title pages, notes, and bibliography. Tipped in also are lists of lot prices and prices realized, all 4421 lots! Remains an invaluable reference guide for collectors and dealers alike.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
