Fore-edge soiled; sporadic moderate foxing; ownership inscription dated 1927 to front free endpaper. "It has been the aim of the editor to include in this volume a thoroughly representative selection of South African Verse from the time of Thomas Pringle who emigrated to South Africa in 1820 to the present day. The book contains 216 poems by 68 different writers and an introductory essay on South African Poetry by the editor." .
