About This Item

Sydney: ABC Books, 1993. Paperback small square quarto, very good condition, card cover, sepia (brown-tinted) photos, minor edgewear. 144 pp. George Aspinall took secret photographs in Singapore, including the Changi camp, and on the appalling Thai-Burma railway, at great personal risk. He processed them on the spot using smuggled chemicals. His photographs are here reproduced in full for the first time. The text was written (in the first person) by ABC journalist Tim Bowden, from interviews for an ABC radio series on prisoners-of-war (POWs).
