London.: R. Sayer & J. Bennett.. 10 June 1775.. Copperplate engraving with outline handcolor on two conjoined sheets of thick laid paper. 21 3/4 17 x 43 1/2 inches (neatline), folded as issued. Band of light soiling at the left edge of the sheet, tear entering 2 inches into map image at upper left edge (with light discoloration to verso from tape residue, not visible on map), short separations in margins along a couple of folds, several other short edge tears, scattered light foxing. This comprises sheets V and VI of the large chart of the Americas by John Green the pseudonym of Braddock Mead, and covers the area from New Zealand and the Queen Charlottes Isles to Tierra Del Fuego and the east coast of Brazil. There is great detail regarding the routes of explorers and their observations. Many bays and capes named in New Zealand as well as a "Mount Camet," and great detail along the southern coast of south America. "Is. of Ice seen by Frezier in 1712" is noted in two places off Cape Horn at approximately 58 degrees south latitude. .
