In fair tan cloth boards, with blind stamped decoration to front with gilt titles and gilt dresser to front. The boards are unmarked; very loose from page block front and rear; the spine ends and corners are bumped. Lightly marked end papers; names of previous owners on front free end paper. The webbing from spine visible from all end papers. Tinted dark top cut edge; the fore and tail edges are tanned and deckled. The text block is in good condition; quite firm and straight; foxed or marked on most page edges. 'With 73 full page illustrations' - (photos). Overall condition is fair due to condition of boards. Good reading copy. Without jacket.

Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.
