Evans Brothers Limited, London, 1954. Reprint. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. list of illustrations, acknowledgements. Text is illustrated with contemporary black and white photographs. Dark blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles on the spine. Plain text dustwrapper, with dark blue coloured background and yellow and white coloured titles on the front panel and spine. The biography of Leonard Cheshire, war aviator, winner of the V. C. and humanitarian. Minor softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the corners. A little rubbing of the top book corners and lower book edges. Age toning and faint foxing to the text block edges with light age toning of the pages with the occasional foxing spots. The end pages are slightly darkened with some faint foxing. Faint musty smell occurs when the book is opened. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. There is 1/2 inch tear to the top edge of the front panel with associated creasing. Smaller tears to the top and bottom edges of the rear panel. Rubbing of the dustwrapper panels and the rear panel shows handling marks and foxing. A few foxing spots to the fold over panels and to the verso. reprinted before publication. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [11], 12 - 217, [1] pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
