About This Item
Le Caire (Cairo): Chez l'Artiste (printed by Les Presses de Dar Al-Maaref), 1953. Enrico Brandini. A CHARMING AND EXTREMELY RARE LIVRE D'ARTISTE PUBLISHED IN CAIRO. Text by Francophone Lebanese poet and journalist Jeanne Arcache (1902-1961). Illustrated with FOUR FULL-PAGE HORS-TEXTE PRINTS BY ENRICO BRANDINI (1914-1979): a stunning color woodcut, two lithographs, and a wood-engraving (and also some small woodcut ornaments.) Edition theoretically limited to 250 numbered copies printed on fine Croxley laid paper, but we have failed to locate any reference to any other copy: not in WorldCat and not in BNF. In any case, this is COPY NUMBER 1. Large folio. Loose as issued in original wraps. COMPLETELY UNCUT AND UNOPENED. A tiny bit of faint foxing, else FINE AND BRIGHT. In the original (mildly battered but structurally solid) board slipcase. A PRISTINE COPY OF A VERY RARE BOOK.
