Chicago: The American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1904. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo [127mm x 203.2mm]. Original green cloth boards with paper label on spine. Printed for private circulation, this is book no. 343 of a series of ten similar handbooks, printed in connection with the International Electrical Congress at St. Louis, on Sept. 12-17th, 1904. [6] 7-203 p.p. Includes [5] folding maps plus illustrations throughout text. Maps show Stations and Substations of the Chicago Edison Company, the Elevated railway system of the City of Chicago, Chicago's Business District showing Railway Terminals, Sanitary and Ship Canals of the Sanitary District, and a Diagram of High-Tension Connections at Fisk Street Station. Rubbing to edges, extremities. Some white flecks spotted on front and rear board. Gentle bruising to spine ends. Interior clean. Tiny tear to fore-edge on p. 105 inside the margin. Memorandum pasted to front pastedown endpaper, and ownership signature on facing endpaper. Otherwise interior clean. A very good copy, designed to present short historical sketches of the city for visitors, and a survey of the power plants and electrical industries along the route.
