A first printing of the acclaimed autobiography of the award-winning and prolific playwright, journalist and and Hollywood screenwriter Ben Hecht. His most notable works include the screenplays for films such as Underworld (1927), Scarface (1932), Gunga Din (1939), Wuthering Heights (1939), Spellbound (1945), and Notorious (1946). The wrote the acclaimed play The Front Page, most famously adapted as the classic film His Girl Friday (1940). Top third of the dust jacket torn off, with additional tears, rubbing and creasing to the jacket. Interior flaps of the jacket unclipped. Binding clean and tight. Interior covers and free endpapers with some light foxing and damp stains. Interior otherwise clean. Binding tight. Dj in poor, binding in near fine, inteiror in very good+ condition overall.
