About This Item

Child Life: The Children's Own Magazine, June 1930, Vol. IX, Number VI. Chicago: Rand McNally, 1930.

A children's monthly periodical with poetry, games, paper dolls, decorations to cut-out, and stories. This 90-year-old magazine was used by children and shows some expected wear, mostly to the cover. Cover is very worn, scuffed, lightly soiled and smudged, edges chipped, lower right corner creased. Inside pages are good.

Profusely illustrated in a restrained Art Deco influenced style, very fluid and curvy, with great period illustrations.
Featured authors include Clara Ingram Judson, Josephine Phillips, Susan Wilbur, Nancy Clinton, Samuel Scoville, Jr., A. Neely Hall, and more.
Illustrators include Mildred Lyon Hetherington, Alice Carsey, Helen Hudson, Corina Medler-Collier, and more.
Advertisers include Elgin, Quaker Oats, Kellogg's Corn Flakes, Kodak, The Sugar Institute, and more.
