San Diego, CA: Community Congress Press, 1973. First Editions. Stapled Wrappers. Very Fine. The true first edition of The Childlike Life of the Black Tarantula, among the earliest published works by Kathy Acker (1947-1997), the postmodern-punk-feminist author who was highly influenced by William S. Burroughs. Partly autobiographical & also based on events in the works by or about the Marquis De Sade, Alexander Trocchi, William Butler Yeats & many others, as stated by the author. Consisting of six parts issued from June-September of 1973 in chapbook format. Certainly one of the very rarest Acker collectibles, we are aware of no other complete set available. In very fine condition, with only very slight browning, creases, rubbing & spotting to wrappers; staples beginning to rust & bleed in parts 1 & 2; edge of pg. 19-20 leaf untrimmed in part 1 as issued, same with pg. 5-6 leaf of part 2.
