It tells of writer Henry Williamson's young family growing up in a thatched cottage in Shallowford, on the south side of Exmoor. It is a wonderffuly happy picture of family life in the countryside during the late 1920s - a faithful portrait of young children and their remarkable mother. This edition has an Afterword by Richard Williamson, the youngest of the Shallowford children.
