About This Item

First Edition First Printing. Good. Children's Poetry By The Author Of "John Halifax, Gentleman" 1881 First Edition.

Pages 113-128 are detached from top 2/3 of binding. Some small rips or tears in 3 pages pictured.

Complete in original red cloth with gilt floral designs. Spine has a few chips.

Binding is overall fair to good, with most pages being attached well; however there is a slight amount of looseness in the pages. Paper on back hinge is cracked but the actual cloth hinges are still good.

A hard to find book of original poetry by Dinah Craik, who was a prominent female novelist and poet in the mid to late 1800s. She also was an early supporter of the idea of independent women being able to access greater opportunities to support themselves and others.

About SweeneySells

Hello Shoppers,

I'm a vintage book seller from the Northeast United States. I have always had a passion for books and history, so now I combine those interests in order to help people find cool books at great prices.

I select my inventory based on many factors such as rarity, historical significance, market popularity, condition, and look. Every book in my inventory has been put there personally by me for a reason.

I have cheap inventory, expensive inventory, and much in between. It is replenished on a (usually) daily basis.

I will combine shipping and give you additional discounts for quantity. Please message me when you are done shopping.

Most vintage booksellers price higher than me, but my approach is fast-moving inventory from consistently high-quality sources. I price items to sell. I am almost always open to offers on buy it now items. Send me a message with any questions, pricing or otherwise. Thank you.

-Ryan
