About This Item

New York, NY Frederick A. Praeger, 1961. Hardcover Third Edition [1961]. The first edition was published in 1935. Two pages show sparse UNDERLINING AND MARGINALIA. Else, Very Good+ in Good+ DJ: The Book shows indications of very careful use; several pages have been inadvertently creased at the upper corner; the binding shows barely discernible lean, but remains perfectly secure; three-word note at the front free endpaper, which also shows the former owner's name and place; else flawless. The DJ shows moderate wear to the extremities, with loss to chips and wear at the head and heel of the backstrip and at the corner tips due to rubbing; mild overall rubbing and faint soiling to the panels; a small lipstick-like stain to the upper front panel; the price is unclipped; mylar-protected. A handsome, if flawed, copy in a moderately worn but still functional DJ. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. xviii, 624 pages. Liberally illustrated in Black & White.19 maps. Fold-out glossy plate at the rear endpapers. Beige buckram over boards. Weight: 2 pounds, 10.8 ounces. Third Edition [1961]. The first edition was published in 1935. Hardback with DJ.
