End papers contain a map of ""the People's Republic of China."" Interior text block clean & tight; no writing; no markings to note. Deckled side edges. Dust jacket very good with ghost of shelf & edge wear; not price clipped. * On the Title Page is a quote attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte, ""When China wakes, it will shake the world."" The jacket flap continues, ""That moment is now at hand. ... With the Chinese economy on a trajectory to overtake Japan and the United States in the coming decades....a spectacular economic boom ....[but concern looms because] China has retained its totalitarian infrastructure...And with the world's largest army, the People's Republic continues to embody a tremendous challenge to the stability of the Pacific Rim....""
