Paperback trade, very good condition, stapled, printed textured thin card covers, black & white photos, staples little rusted, tiny tear & scuff top edge front cover, top corners last few pages & rear cover lightly creased, minor edgewear. 73 pp. This booklet covers the controversy, the question of Fletcher's trusteeship, the issues of the election of 31 January 1862, public criticism of Tyrrell and Fletcher, Fletcher's break with Hannell, and farewell to Newcastle. The booklet has references, bibliography, and an index. The author won the Newcastle Public Library Local History Award with a longer similar essay in 1967. (No 3 in this series.).
