About This Item
Colophon in gold on front cover. Spine has publisher colophon and author in gold gilt. This novel is about my grandfathers' death working on the New York City subways, where there is an Italian buried under every tie, just as the authors' father died. The book was banned in the United States, leading to the film production being done in England.
Well written book that brings heart break to the page. All working people should read this book. The text unmarked. No visible flaws except the dust jacket is missing.,
Synopsis
An uncompromising yet beautiful portrait of the life of Italian immigrants on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the 1920s, Christ in Concrete is the story of a twelve-year-old boy who must support his family after his father's untimely death.
