About This Item
Lipsiae: Ex Officina Langenhemia, 1750. HB. Brown paper covered boards, 12 mo, xvi, 488, [8] pp., all edges of text block stained blue. Crusius (1715-1775) was a German philosopher and theologian, educated and later professor at the University of Leipzig, whose works were very influential on the formation of Immanuel Kant's philosophical work. His theological works were influential in the Pietist movement and had an impact on later works by the evangelical theologian Ernst Wilhelm Hengstenberg (1802-1869). This copy with a bookplate on the front pastedown stating that it was acquired from the library of E. W. Hengstenberg as part of his estate and donated to a Baptist seminary in 1875. No indications of ever having been a library copy. No marks in book, binding tight. Cover show minor edge wear, lower corners bumped, faint number hand-written top of spine. Book condition VG. Text in Latin.
