About This Item

New York: Macmillan. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 1925. First Edition. Hardcover. 401 pages; Offsetting to endpapers from Dust Jacket flaps, otherwise clean and tight in original red cloth binding in a nice dust jacket with minor wear at head & tail of spine; head of dustjacket internally reinforced with archival tissue. Little Mr. Preemby "married into laundrying," but when strong-minded Mrs. Preemby died he and Christina Alberta gladly abandoned the laundry and went forth to London in search of adventure. Mr. Preemby had always loved to dwell in imagination on the mysteries of ancient times -- the lost Atlantis, the meaning of the Pyramids, and so on -- and when at an amateur seance a pseudo-medium hailed him as Sargon, King of Sumeria, returned to earth, the little laundryman accepted the call and determined to bring again the golden days of his great reign." ; Experience the pleasure of reading and appreciating this actual printed item. It has its own physical history that imbues it with a character lacking in ephemeral electronic renderings. .
