About This Item

Berlin, Eduard Haenel's Buchdruckerei,1855.. 1st Edition . Hardcover. .. Quarto. Pp. iv, 83. HARDCOVER, bound in green full cloth with the original printed wrappers bound-in, spine-ends gilt-ruled; inner hinges bit darkened front wrap dusty, very vague dampmark at lower corner of some leaves slightly more visible on title-page. In a very good condition. ~ FIRST EDITION. Extremely rare. There exists some certain unclarity regarding the author's first name, with some sources claim it to be "Fraugott" (see for example Henning & Herfurth: "Orden und Ehrenzeichen: Handbuch der Phaleristik"); while others (WorldCat) insist on "Traugott". ~ Provenance: From the library of C. P. Mulder, renowned collector and international heraldry authority, with his charming armorial bookplate,"Nil Desperandum", to first free endpaper. For a complete catalogue of Mulder's library, from which we offer a considerable number of items, see: C. P. Mulder: "Catalogue of Works on Orders, Decorations and Medals in the Library of C. P. Mulder" (Rotterdam, 1988). See also: C. P. Mulder & A. A. Purves: "Bibliography of Orders and Decorations" (Copenhagen, 1999). H-3
