Hugh Paulinius (1605-1674), who became a Benedictine monk under the name of Serenus Cressy, was an English Doctor of Theology. Originally taking orders in the Church of England, he converted to Catholicism in Rome in 1646 while on a trip to the continent. From title-page: 1. The lives of all our saints assigned to the proper ages where in they lived. - II. The erections of episcopall see's and succession of bishops. - III. The celebration of synods, nationall, provinciall and diocesan. - IV. The foundations of monasteries, nunneries and churches. - V. And a sufficient account of the successions of our kings, and of the civil affaires of this kingdom.
