Blue boards with silver writing on spine; top and bottom of book spine rumpled. Shelf wear to top of dust jacket spine; slight shelf wear to bottom of dust jacket spine. Top of front dust jacket has very slight wrinkling; cover price of £20.00 on front dust jacket flap. Tight binding and pages still look in excellent condition.
Orion First edition, First printing as indicated by complete number line ending in "1" listed on copyright page. Signed by author on special tipped-in page by publisher.
Cronin's third novel in a trilogy, followed by The Passage and The Twelve; the trilogy was eventually made into a TV series on Fox. Hardcover and original unclipped dust jacket protected by archival Mylar cover.
