Volume II has front hinge repaired with tape, cracked rear hinge, sound binding. Pages clean, tanned. Cloth over boards is shelf worn and edge rubbed with heavier wear to corners and extremities of spines. Gilt lettering on spines clear and bright. ; John William Burgess (1844-1931) has been described as "the most influential political scientist of the period" and "the father of American political science."; The American History Series; Ex-Library; 7.25" tall; 667 pages.
