Richmond, 1890. Good binding. Large 8vo,; in printed wrapper, [3], 4- 46 pages including the front wrapper; the rear wrapper is present but is blank and not counted in the pagination; the front wrapper is soiled, and has loss to the bottom corner, as do the first 6 leaves; the loss does not affect any text.~~Mr. Daniel was the great orator of the post-Civil War era and seemed to take pleasure in memorializing the Confederate effort. He was not afraid to go on a bit: it is reported that his address at the dedication of the statue of General Lee at Washington and Lee lasted for three hours~~While serving in the 27th Virginia Infanry he was wounded .at the First Battle of Bull Run. He was a staff officer for Jubal Early and resigned his commission after a minie ball shattered his femur at hte Battle of the Wilderness in May 1864.~~This pamphlet is uncommon in commerce. (Haynes 4495). Good binding.
