About This Item
From fron DJ flap: "The place and period described by Jay Monaghan in this book saw one of the bitterest conflicts in American history. In the territory created by the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854 hot-blooded abolitionists and slave-holders proved North and South irreconcilable, and their furious struggle deeply influenced national politics and hastened the advent of the Civil War."
Book - Very Good condition. Blue cloth over boards with gold text on spine. Very little edge wear, but corners are bent. Pages are clean and binding is tight.
Dust Jacket - Fair condition. Some rubbing and bumping, plus tiny tears and chips on edges and corners. Now in Brodart protective cover.
