About This Item

Cambridge University Press, 1995. Quarto, illustrated with maps and charts, pp xviii, 213, very clean internally, pictorial cloth in very good condition. SCARCE. [Dr Peter Moore's copy, with his small label on the front endpaper.] [As Climate Changes: International Impacts and Implications is the most comprehensive study to date examining potential global effects of climate change. The project, which was funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency, involved over 150 scientists from around the world. Common climate change scenarios were used to examine impacts on agriculture, water resources, coastal resources, forests and human health. The studies focused on impacts of climate change on developing countries around the world, and included an integrated case study of Egypt. In addition, the agriculture and forests studies also examined global effects. The studies found that developing countries may be more vulnerable to climate change because some impacts may be more negative on these countries, they have a higher share of national income in climate sensitive sectors, and they have fewer resources to adapt to climate change. This volume summarises the methods and findings from these studies.]. First British edition. Boards. Very Good.
