About This Item

San Francisco: The Sierra Club, 1964. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 1964 FIRST PRINTING of First Edition. Very uncommon. Roper told me that less than 500 copies were made. That number is corroborated in Vogel's bibliography of climbing guidebooks. Original red cloth, black lettering front & spine, black decoration front & spine. The book is in basically new condition with the only flaw being a tiny bump to the upper outside corner tip of the rear cover. Very clean, no rubbing, no fading, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, tight binding, complete with all pages and photos. The scarce original dust jacket is present and has the usual rubbing to edges and spine ends, small loss at spine corners, no tears, complete with original price printed on the front flap corner. The book measures 19cm tall x 12.5cm and has 190 + [2] pages, 39 b/w photos (of climbers in action), sketches, index. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
