Pp. 378, coloured frontispiece, plus 4 black & white plates and 6 maps (one double page); cr. 8vo; pictorial green cloth, lettered in buff and decorated in red, black & buff, a trifle soiled, edges of boards lightly rubbed and fore-corners slightly bruised, the lower board lightly scuffed; school library stamp and inked prize inscription (dated 1922) on upper free endpaper, the endpapers and plates offset, a couple of small closed tears (one near centre of list of illustrations), some light foxing (mainly to outer leaves and edges) and occasional slight soiling; Blackie & Son Limited, London, n.d.
