Tall octavo in red boards quarter bound in cloth with gilt title and credits to spine and facsimile author's signature embossed on front panel, 324 pages. Top edge *very* lightly speckled, rear dustjacket fold-in a little creased. Set on the on the Italian Riveriera in 1920, the protagonist Dora rules in her lonely widowed splendour in an immense white villa high above the threadbare fishing village, locked in combat with her sensitive, vulnerable daughter.
