About This Item
Hardcover, no jacket as issued. Good condition with some shelf wear on bottom edge, minor corner bumping, and evidence of last few pages on bottom right having been wet once (no staining or stuck together, just crinkled in the corner). In-depth study of Archaic (ca. 5550-1550 BCE) shellmound culture in southern Mexico (Chiapas). Although mostly authored by Voorhies, several sections are coauthored with colleagues and students. Very useful as a comparative study for those working on similar sites and cultures elsewhere. The book was also groundbreaking because there was little previous work on the early occupations of this part of Chiapas.
