Owner bookplate on front pastedown with inked initials on rear pastedown and faint stains on bottom edge thus near fine in a toned very good dust jacket with chips and tears. Capote's neighbor and close friend Harper Lee acted as his secretary during his investigations into the tragic murders. Basis for the excellent film adapted for the screen and directed by Richard Brooks, with Robert Blake, Scott Wilson, John Forsythe, Quincy Jones's music, and Conrad Hall's famous cinematography.

Synopsis

In Cold Blood is a nonfiction book by American author Truman Capote. The book details the brutal 1959 murders of Herbert Clutter, a wealthy farmer from Holcomb, Kansas, and his wife and two of their children. When Capote learned of the quadruple murder before the killers were captured, he decided to travel to Kansas and write about the crime.
