First Edition, First Printing. Near Fine in a near fine dust jacket with minor rubbing and chipping on the edge. Rare first state dustjacket (5.95 price intact and the 1/66 on the bottom front flap). Publishers rust color cloth, gilt title and initials, with matching rust endpapers. Top edge blue. Capote's ground-breaking nonfiction work on the murder of the Clutter family in 1959. Dated 1965 to title page, but actually published in January 1966. 8vo, 343pp.An excellent copy, very scarce thus.
Synopsis
In Cold Blood is a nonfiction book by American author Truman Capote. The book details the brutal 1959 murders of Herbert Clutter, a wealthy farmer from Holcomb, Kansas, and his wife and two of their children. When Capote learned of the quadruple murder before the killers were captured, he decided to travel to Kansas and write about the crime.
