Spine head and foot slightly worn. Front hinge slightly cracked but holding, as well as between page 100 and 101. A few foxing. Otherwise in very good condition. Illustrated with 160 reproductions of paintings (36 in color), a collection of masterpieces work by 67 prominent Chinese artists produced between 1853 to 1971. Artists include Wangzhen, Reyi, Wu Changsuo, Yu Fei'an, Wu Hufan, Ma Shouhua, Pan Tianshou, Renxiong, Zengxi, Jincheng, Wang Xuetao, Huang Junbi, Fu Baoshi, Xu Beihong, He Tianjian, Qi Baishi, Liu Haisu, and others. Among these, some of the works were painted strictly following the old method of painting imitation, some do show the artists' own styles, some characterized the artists' efforts in combining the Chinese and Western styles into their own style.
