Philadelphia: Printed by Joseph Crukshank, 1787. Leather bound. Fair. Octavo. 439 pages. Brown calf leather binding with leather title label on the spine. Front board is detached. Leather is rubbed and pitted on the covers. Leather chipped head of the spine with a small remnant of black tape at the top. A small piece of black linen tape at the bottom of the spine. All preliminary and end sheets are removed. Title page is torn on the edge with a small amount of missing print. Text starts on the title page and ends on page 439. The last leave is partially glued to the rear paste down. Several pencil names written in the margins throughout the text including American Presidents on the early pages. Name of Richard Hopkins written in old ink on the title page. Other Hopkins family members? names on the rear paste down. Small paper bookplate of Richard K. Betts on the front paste down. Persistent toning to the contents. A fair copy only.
