Some cover soil. Good,. Danish Literature [Copenhagen?] 1870s-80s? orig. wrappers 22x18cm, (216) pp, THREE VOLUMES. This is a collection of three paper-bound handwritten notebooks comprising two undated, apparently unpublished manuscripts by prolific 19th-century Danish novelist, poet, dramatist & essayist Rudolf Schmidt. The first two notebooks ( 77 + 7 2 pp; about 150 words to a page) are titled "Forste Hæ fte" & "Andet Hæfte" and consist of an untitled play. Labelled, in pencil, on cover, by contemporary Danish book collector Maxmillian Bruhn "Et dramatisk Arbeide fra Forfatteren Rudolf Schmidt". The play's characters are Kongen, Dronningen, their children Lotario & Juana, Anton (King's younger brother), etc. The first act, set in the castle, involved Princess Juana with court ladies.The third notebook is titled, in Schmidt's hand " To Brødre: En Karakteristik" and is a prose work of 67 pages (about 175 words to a page).
