With numerous black and white illustrations by E W Kemble and the author throughout. 12mo, publisher’s original olive boards, lettered in gilt on the spine and bordered and lettered in black on the upper cover. vi, 208 pp. A fine, clean copy. FIRST EDITION OF SMITH'S FIRST NOVEL. With charming illustrations within the text. Smith was an author, artist and engineer whose best known work is the foundation for the Statue of Liberty.
