Longmans, Green and Co. 1912. 8vo, 22.2cm, first edition, xvi,311p., with frontis and 14 plate illustrations, appendix, index, original blue cloth, gilt spine and cover titles, very good to fine copy, presentation inscription from P[helan] Edgar, dated Christmas 1922. (Amp). Published two years after her death, A Colonial Governor in Maryland, is Edgar's book about Horatio Sharpe, who was Governor of Maryland before the American Revolution. It was based in part on documents and letters from his young secretary, John Ridout, who was one of Edgar's ancestors. see Dagg. The Feminine Gaze, p96. and D.A.B. under Horatio Sharpe.
