About This Item
This is a collection of works by G. K. Chesterton, author, poet, artist and literary and art critic. As a mystery writer, he created the Father Brown series. This book contains, as stated inside the dust jacket, "...the things you would have got from Chesterton had you been his week-end guest. There are fairy-stories with his own illustrations, comic verse, satirical ballads, caricatures of himself, an Introduction to the Study of Demonology, fantastic pictures in many colours, black and white illustrations of curious themes." This book was published two years after Chesterton's death and contains some material not previously published. The first page of the table of contents is shown in photo #9, it runs for two and a half pages. As stated, there are many illustrations in black and white and a few in color, some of which might not fit into today's politically correct world.
The book shows wear at the corners, with clean and intact pages and a previous owner's nameplate on the front endpaper. The dust jacket is rather plain and has suffered many injuries, as seen in the first three photos. This is a rather rare book and does not indicate any previous releases. This book will ship at a little over two pounds. Excess shipping costs are included in the list price.
