Illustrated endpapers, being a floral design, in peach, reproduced multiple times. Green coloured cloth covered boards with self embossed illustration to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Dark pink coloured tint to the top textblock edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. The first volume (of two) of of the French playwright Moliere's comedic plays. Plays include:  The Blunderer, or the Counter-Plots, The Amorous Quarrel, The Miser, The Romantic Ladies, The School for Husbands, The School For Wives, The School for Wives Criticised, The Impromptu of Versailles, The Man-Hater, the Mock-Doctor. Everyman's Library Volume 830. PLEASE NOTE:  Volume 1 is the only volume we have. Softening and fading to the backstrip with bumping of the book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. Original bookseller's rubber stamp to the lower left hand corner of the free front and paper and there is a small pink mark to the lower edge of the front paste-down. Chipping to the dustwrapper are corners and the backstrip edges have lost the first quarter inch. A few small tears, with creasing, to the dustwrapper edges. Sunning to be backstrip with a few foxing marks to the panels. Rubbing to the dustwrapper panels and browning and foxing to the verso. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
