About This Item

Scottsdale, AZ: Poisoned Pen Press, 2011. First Edition, First Printing. . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. Best known for his contemporary western mystery series featuring Sheriff Bill Gastner and Posada County, N.M., Havill shows off his versatility as well as his writing skills in this historical novel set in timber and fishing country in1890s Washington state where Dr. Thomas Parks is waging a desperate battle to save the small town of Port McKinney from an epidemic of Asian cholera. Losing patients at a staggering rate as he struggles to find the origin of the vicious disease, Parks is faced with decisions that may destroy the town in order to save at least a few of its residents. Boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square, not remaindered. The dustjacket shows a tiny dogear at the top of the rear inside flap and a lightly bumped bottom of the spine, o/w no tears, no chipping, no creasing, not price-clipped. Collectable.
