Originally issued in parts, 1844-1846, with illustrations by George Cruikshank, a number of editions of this parody on the law appeared through the 19th century. CBEL III, p. 599. Owner's inscription, front hinge weak, a little foxing, else very good. Somewhat later red half-morocco (rubbed) and cloth, gilt rules and title on spine, marbled endpapers and edges, by "Charles Winstanley, Manchester". (#6376).
