London: Bradbury, Agnew, & Co. Book. Illus. by John Leech. Very Good Minus. 3/4 Leather on Marbled Board. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Blue leather in 3/4 style on marbled boards. No writing. Top edges gilt. Suggestion of shelf wear on bottom corners. Minor waterstaining to the edges of the first few pages of Volume I (not affecting text). Serious and not-so-serious students of English history alike will profit from this lovely set. Fans of John Leech will appreciate his 20 coloured steel engravings as well as his dozens of smaller drawings. Ca. 1850 (A'Beckett died in 1856). Just the ticket for someone who is taking life and history far too seriously ! Very heavy set will need extra postage..
