Bound in dark blue denim, with a printed paper title label affixed to front board. Slight wear to lower corners of cover. VG+. Broderick inscribed and dated the book on the FFEP. Broderick's inscription to a prominent Seattle attorney: "To George Rummens / A Very Valued Friend / Henry Broderick / April 22, 1936".A whimsical take on a serious subject, "the Big House" in Walla Ditto. Broderick, the Seattle real-estate magnate, served on the State Parole Board. Herein he dispenses with his experiences and suggestions for penal reform. Printer Frank McCaffrey provides clever design; the binding -- in the "prison blues" -- is a masterstroke. Full cloth binding -- using denim from prison-issued clothing.
