About This Item
Washington, D. C.: GPO, 1962. iii, 121p., plain printed selfwraps, facsimiles (one folding), slightest edgewear, some duplication of facsimiles, evidently printer's error. NB, GPO testimony is rendered in the French language only, while all other texts are as issued in the English-language issue.. there were 2,000 copies each of "Spanish, French and Italian" translations. A nice copy of the one where Helms speaks French. Hearing before the subcommittee to investigate the administration of the internal security act, etc., 87th congress first session. Larger portion of text consists in reproduction of various typescript documents and news articles. The foldout illustration shows global map (minus North America) with lines radiating from Moscow, Cairo, Hanoi and Beijing [Peking] that diagram "Distribution of Rockefeller letter by Soviet bloc, 1957-1960. As regards this letter, whether a successful dirty trick or a false imputation, we have no info. Also see a purported Douglas Dillon forgery, Dillon to US ambassador to Congo Timberlake, urging manipulation of Tshombe and Lumumba.
