Photographic endpapers, in black-and-white, showing different forms of gardens. The text is profusely illustrated with both coloured and black-and-white photography, plans and the occasional sketch. Bottle green boards with gilt writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and to the front spine gutter along with the lower book edges. Shelf wear to the lower book edges and there has been fading to the lower book edges as well. The remains of tape can be seen on the verso of the free front end paper, the half title page and opposite page to the title page. The internal pages are the very slightly browned and somewhat " crinkled". Browning to the paper edges. Photographic dustwrapper ( wraparound ), showing a very dense garden, with white writing on the front panel and spine. A book from the 1970s on Australian gardening for Australian conditions. The dust jacket as rubbing and a short tear at the top of the spine section, no other damage to detail, the book is clean and free of annotation. This is the first Australian edition.
