LONDON: PUTNAM, 1937 Full aquamarine grained morocco leather boards with 5 raised bands and gilt blocked titles to spine. 220 x 145 mm approx. Hand sewn two colour head and tail bands, top edge gilt, xxvi + 1100 pp. Frontis + 184 other b/w photo illustrations all as called for. First Edition 1937 in a signed fine binding by Best and Co. Good (Book- fading to leather and insect damage - probably wood lice (Pill Bugs) to bottom edges mainly to rear board. Browning bands to free end papers from leather turn ins and ink previous owner name and source to front free end paper. No other notable defects, board covers are darker - image lightens). A heavy tome and an additional charge will need be made for overseas shipping.
